Time Warner Cable has wrapped up the launch of NESN National on its sports tier, Sports Pass, making the service available in 17 DMAs within the six states of Ohio, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin.
Time Warner Cable first launched the New England Sports Network’s NESN National in September on its North Carolina and South Carolina systems.
The Midwest launch of NESN National marks the largest rollout to date of the sports network that features the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox. Combined with previous launches, NESN National is now available to more than 7 million cable homes in 13 states.
Time Warner Cable customers can receive almost all of NESN’s Red Sox and Bruins game telecasts by subscribing to the MLB Extra Innings and NHL Center Ice packages, respectively.
“Time Warner Cable is continually looking to provide customers more programming options and the launch of NESN National on our Sports Pass channel lineup, along with other additions, highlights our commitment to improving our offerings,” said Terry O’Connell, executive vice president of Time Warner Cable’s Midwest Region. “The Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins are two of the best-known brands in professional sports, and sports fans are going to enjoy the coverage and shows built around those two teams, as well as other programming on the network.”
