Netflix released its monthly ISP Speed Index, which is a measure of primetime Netflix performance by ISPs. In May, Bright House took the lead spot with 3.65 Mbps, just topping Verizon FiOS, which ranked at 3.64 Mbps.
“In the U.S., performance at the top-end of the index has converged to a level of very good quality, with the top four ISPs delivering average monthly speeds between 3.65 Mbps and 3.61 Mbps,” the company states in a blog. “While Bright House took the top spot for the first time, it was closely followed by Verizon FiOS, Cox and Cablevision.”
Cable operators filled out most of the rest of the top 10, which included Charter, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Mediacom and Suddenlink. AT&T’s U-verse was at tenth place.
CenturyLink, which Netflix has called out in the past for its performance, was at the bottom of its U.S. index with a reported 1.66 Mbps.
