AT&T unleashed a series of 1 Gbps rollout announcements including a Chicago high-rise, as well as gigabit access in San Diego and El Paso, Texas.
In the Windy City, AT&T reports it now offers Wolf Point West residents a gig in more than 500 units.
“We’re working with property owners, management groups, homeowner associations and developers throughout Chicago to expand the availability of AT&T GigaPower,” Peter Feeney, VP of MDU and connected community sales at AT&T, reports. “This will make properties more attractive. Internet speeds up to 1 gigabit per second let residents quickly connect to the cloud, telecommute easily, video chat in real-time and stream the latest entertainment.”
In the San Diego region, the operator launched internet speeds up to 1 Gbps to homes, apartments and small businesses including Carlsbad, San Diego and San Marcos and surrounding communities. Beyond the single family homes where it’s made service available, the company also is reportedly launching in nearly 15 San Diego region apartment complexes including making AT&T GigaPower available to resident of the master-planned Civita community in Mission Valley.
AT&T also has deployed the ultra-fast internet service in parts of El Paso, Texas, and surrounding communities.
“AT&T is a valued member of our local business community and has played a strategic role in the economic growth and vibrant quality of life in El Paso,” Rolando Pablos, CEO of the Borderplex Alliance, says. “We are proud to have the AT&T GigaPower network and look forward to the new economic and innovation opportunities it will enable for our residents, entrepreneurs and small businesses.”
