Canoe Ventures not only has a new CEO and CTO, it also has a product rolled out.
According to a story in the New York Times, Canoe Ventures has launched an experimental political channel, called Elections ’08 On Demand, that lets viewers watch political video clips whenever they want.
The channel is currently available in 32 million homes, primarily through the six Canoe Ventures partners: Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cablevision, Charter Communications, Cox Communications and Bright House Networks.
Elections ’08 has been available since January but the New York Times said only 500,000 segments have been viewed and the current offering has about eight hours of programming.
Last week CED reported that Arthur Orduna joined Canoe Venture, which is working on building an advanced, nationwide advertising platform, as the company’s chief technical officer. On Aug. 4, CEO David Verklin started working at the company’s Manhattan headquarters. See story here.
