Charter announced it got an OK from the State of New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for its merger with Time Warner Cable. This follows approval by the state of New York last month.
However, California might not be a pleasant walk on the beach, according to recent news. Paul Goodman, legal counsel for an advocacy group Greenlining Institute, says he believes the vote won’t be one-sided and it’s at a “tipping point” where the decision could fall one way or another in May, as reported here.
Generally, however, analysts have leaned toward forecasting approval, despite scary-looking zombie apocalypse prophecies like those at Stop Mega Cable. That coalition says it believes that “the FCC and DOJ must solve the harms that would result” from the merger. A list of members is available here.
