After launching 1 Gbps internet service in North Carolina back in April (story here), Windstream announced on Thursday that its Kinetic pay TV service is now available in 13 communities in that state, covering more than 50,000 residents. This marks the fourth Kinetic market following deployments in Lincoln, Neb., Lexington, Ky., and Sugar Land, Texas, in the last two years.
“Earlier this year we announced 1 Gig service to North Carolina residents. The launch of Kinetic marks an important next step in our continued commitment to providing North Carolina residents with access to high-quality TV and Internet experiences,” Sarah Day, president of consumer and small business at Windstream, says.
Among the features of the Kinetic offering are high-definition channels, whole-home DVR, wireless set-tops for additional TVs, video-on-demand, and streaming access to devices including computers and smartphones.
North Carolina communities covered in the rollout include Albemarle, Badin, China Grove, Concord, Harrisburg, Hemby Bridge, Indian Trail, Kannapolis, Matthews, Mooresville, Mt. Pleasant, New London, and Oakboro.
