Oxford Networks will build a fiber-to-the-premises network in the Maine communities of Lewiston and Auburn using Optical Solutions‘ FiberPath platform.
Oxford Networks will offer bundled broadband services over that Passive Optical Network (PON) to more than 60,000 homes in the area, which is nestled about 30 miles northwest of Portland. Oxford, which plans eventually to offer high-definition TV services over the FTTP grid, also provides long haul fiber optic services between Bangor and New Hampshire.
