Cellceutix Corp. , a Beverly biopharmaceutical company, has named patent attorney Paul Ginsburg to the company’s advisory board.
Ginsburg, who is best known for authoring the patent covering Schering-Plough’s drug Claritin, according to Cellceutix, was most recently at Pfizer Inc., where he served as head of the New York Patent Department, which dealt with several blockbuster products, including Viagra and Chantix. Ginsburg has lectured widely on pharmaceutical and biotechnology patent prosecution and licensing at the Practicing Law Institute and Columbia Law School. Prior to his 20-year career at Pfizer, Ginsburg was a senior attorney at Schering-Plough. He was subsequently recruited by Merck and then by the intellectual property law firm, Fish & Neave.
