Google has been working on a self-driving that won’t include a steering wheel and, eventually, any sort of pedals. While the car won’t initially be sold publicly, Google announced on Tuesday that it hopes to have 100 prototypes on public roads by next year.

The prototype’s top speed will be a mere 25 MPH, and it will include buttons for go and stop.
“It reminded me of catching a chairlift by yourself, a bit of solitude I found really enjoyable,” Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, told a Southern California tech conference Tuesday evening of his first ride, according to a transcript.
