Woobo, a new companion robot, is specifically geared toward kids. Programmed to display emotions and a high level of interactivity, this robot uses cloud-based artificial intelligence to coordinate its speech with facial expressions and movements. Designed by MIT alum Feng Tan, Woobo can be programmed to wake the kids up at a certain time to their favorite songs. The furry companion can also remind children to brush their teeth.

Woobo can also act as a diagnostic tool for parents to determine how their child is developing — and even provide insight into his or her interests based upon questions asked of Woobo.
Children are currently beta testing the bot, but Tan said he expects to see Woobo hit the market next year.
