Portuguese cable operator Cabovisao, which is owned by Cogeco Cable, has selected Sigma Systems’ OSS technologies to provision PacketCable and Session Initiation Protocol devices.
Cabovisao will deploy Sigma Systems’ Device Provisioning Manager, which is part of its Service Management Portfolio of IP service fulfillment solutions. According to Sigma, the Device Provisioning Manager will allow Cabovisao to:
- Simplify activation and management of its triple-play bundle
- Cost-effectively scale as its subscriber base grows
- Auto-configure and provision business and residential customer premises equipment, including PacketCable, SIP, DOCSIS 3.0 and IPv6 devices
“At Cabovisao, we pride ourselves on offering innovation to our customers in Portugal,” said Alexandre Fonseca, group director for the technology and information systems area in Cabovisao. “As we look to expand our SMB offerings to include SIP-based VoIP and grow our market share, we chose Sigma Systems’ OSS solutions to automate our device provisioning processes and to stabilize our back office.”
The two companies have a previous working relationship, with Sigma Systems already supporting the service delivery of Cabovisao’s home phone and broadband offerings to more than 440,000 subscribers.
