Block Communications, which owns Buckeye CableSystem, recently announced that W.H. “Chip” Carstensen was named its new president.
Prior to his promotion, Carstensen was president and general manager of Buckeye CableSystem since 2002, according to Toledo newspaper The Blade, which is also owned by Block. Carstensen succeeded Gary Blair, who retired as Block’s president.
In addition to Carstensen’s promotion, Joe Jensen, president of subsidiary Buckeye TeleSystem and executive vice president and CTO of Buckeye CableSystem, was named to the newly created position of executive vice president of Block Communications. In this role, Jensen is in charge of the company’s cable and telecommunications operations.
Brad Mefferd, vice president of sales and marketing at Buckeye TeleSystem, succeeded Carstensen as president of Buckeye CableSystem, while Patrick Deville, president of subsidiary Erie County Cablevision, is now executive vice president and COO of Buckeye CableSystem.
John Martin, vice president of sales and marketing at Buckeye TeleSystem, took over for Jensen as president of Buckeye TeleSystem.
