Promptu (the renamed AgileTV) announced it has reconfigured its technology for the mobile marketplace. As AgileTV, the company enabled cable operators to provide a service in which subscribers could use voice commands to search for, discover, and purchase content.
As Promptu, the company is offering the same capability to cellular service providers. Promptu provides mobile subscribers easy access to their wireless carrier’s music, videos, ringtones, games, wallpapers, or other applications. Once a carrier has deployed Promptu’s network-based solution, consumers can use a simple, phone-based application to search for content by title, personality, brand or genre simply by pressing one button and issuing a voice command rather than going through countless clicks and scrolls on their handset.
Separately, Promptu appointed Brady O. Bruce to the position of senior vice president of telecom products and services. Prior to Promptu, Bruce served as vice president of sales and support at Prismiq Inc.
