Verizon is denying it, but there is a growing number of state utility commissions coming to the conclusion that the company is neglecting its DSL infrastructure in favor of building out its optical network.
Delaware joins West Virginia, Florida and New York in making the determination that Verizon is becoming less responsive to its DSL customers, notes DSL Reports in a round-up on the subject.
Verizon has apparently been lobbying state utility commissions trying to water down the requirements for what constitutes speedy repair of DSL services. The Charleston Gazette (W.Va.) is quoted saying “The PSC’s Consumer Advocate Division alleges that Verizon is inflating performance data to make it appear the company is fixing customers’ problems quickly and meeting service standards.”
