RCN Business has installed a point-of-presence at 325 Hudson in New York City in order to provide its business customers with more interconnection options. On the flip side, 325 Hudson customers gained access to other markets served by RCN Business including: Boston, Chicago, Lehigh Valley, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
“One of the primary RCN Business goals is to offer choice to our customers,” said Bruce Abbott, vice president and general manager, RCN New York City. “Connecting to 325 Hudson allows us to add one of the region’s key carrier hotels to our network. Combined with advanced technology and our customized partnership approach, this new interconnection choice helps us deliver excellent service to our customers in New York City and in other RCN markets.”
The data center at 325 Hudson Street is a 10-story, 240,000-square-foot building located in the heart of New York City’s “Hudson Square” neighborhood, along the fiber-dense Hudson Street corridor. The building has direct access to transatlantic cables and major metro and regional fiber providers. The carrier-neutral core interconnection facility features a building-owned and managed “Meet Me Room.”
“The expansion of RCN Business into 325 Hudson allows RCN to offer new levels of performance in terms of neutral interconnection, speed to market and an ability to raise awareness of the fiber-rich network they own,” said John Danko, director of business development at 325 Hudson.
Earlier this year, RCN Business garnered the Metro Ethernet Forum’s CE 2.0 certification in the E-Line, E-LAN and E-Access service categories.
