Due to increased demand, RCN Metro Optical Networks announced today that it has expanded its New York City colocation facility with the addition of cabinet and power capacity.
“Three of the most critical factors in the selection of a colocation facility are location, power and cooling systems – our 111 8th Ave. facility delivers the very best in each of these areas,” said Felipe Alvarez, president of RCN Metro.
RCN Metro’s colocation facility is connected to its backbone in order to allow customers access to high-capacity wavelength, Ethernet and SONET services on the RCN Metro network from Portland, Maine, to Washington, D.C., out to Chicago and up to Toronto.
RCN Metro has 24 colocation facilities throughout its footprint, including its high-density colocation facility located at 165 Halsey St. in Newark, N.J.
