Subscribers’ frustrations with their WiFi are an extremely commonplace reason they call for help around broadband services. The cost of those calls means operators have looked to get creative as to how they can take the issue on.
Miguel Quiroga, head of digital for Verizon Fios, says “How can I improve my WiFi speeds?” is one of the most common questions the company fields from customers, so taking that query on more directly is the strategy behind the new WiFi Analyzer tool in the latest version of its My Fios App. Verizon reports that when used with the Fios Quantum Gateway router, the app can evaluate performance between all connected WiFi devices and the router, identify possible sources of signal interference, and either resolve the issues or make recommendations to the customer on steps to take to improve performance. Users can reportedly do this with “a single touch” in the app.
Beyond the WiFi tool, the new app design also is said to feature a simplified design and includes direct integration of Facebook Messenger. So that means Fios subs can directly message Verizon through Facebook Messenger and “get a quick response from one of our technical experts when they have a question or need assistance,” the company reports. Additionally, the redesign reportedly makes it simpler to view and pay bills as well as view missed calls and voicemails.
