Rentrak Corp. announced that it has hired Kristie Fortner as vice president of syndication and Gordon Jones as director of business development for Rentrak’s Essentials suite of business intelligence products.
Fortner is responsible for leveraging Rentrak’s breadth and depth of media usage data across multiple platforms through published reports that provide additional insight for Rentrak clients and other parties interested in overall industry trends.
Jones’ role is to drive future business growth for Rentrak through his industry experience in video-on-demand (VOD), broadband and linear platforms.
Prior to joining Rentrak, Fortner worked for Paramount Pictures and Ripe Digital Entertainment. During her six-year tenure at Paramount Pictures, Fortner focused on program research and implemented key marketing strategies for the on-demand space.
Jones most recently served as vice president of affiliate sales and business development for Expo Communications, where he led the group’s on-demand and broadband distribution efforts with companies such as AOL, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Yahoo.
“Both Kristie and Gordon will be tremendous assets to Rentrak as we continue to advance the media measurement industry by servicing an extensive roster of MSOs, broadband companies, studios and content providers,” said Cathy Hetzel, president of the Advanced Media and Information (AMI) division.
Rentrak processes daily, census-level on-demand data representing 54 million set-top boxes from 28 MSOs; has more than 100 content provider customers; and processes billions of transactions annually.
