Wire and prep tool manufacturer Ripley Company has acquired the proprietary products and intellectual assets of Amherst FiberOptics from Communication Dynamics Inc., the parent company of TVC Communications. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Beginning immediately, Ripley Company will be adding the fiber optic tools acquired in the acquisition to its Miller product line.
As part of the transaction, Ripley Company owns the patents and will be selling the Amherst “Hot Stipper,” a fiber optic cable tool that allows a user to strip and clean fiber optic cable simply and precisely. Additional products that will become part of the Miller line include Splice Sleeves, which protect spliced fibers without fiber recoating; and Reco Sleeves, designed for very small diameter fibers.
