Rogers announced it is offering Gigabit Internet services to small business customers with its Rogers Ignite for business Gigabit. The Canadian operator reports that the service is available to select areas in downtown Toronto and the GTA, as well as areas in Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Markham, Pickering, Ajax and Whitby. More cities and communities will be rolling out gigabit service in the coming months, according to the company.
“Internet connectivity and speeds have a direct impact on the productivity and growth potential of a small business,” Charlie Wade, SVP of enterprise products and solutions at Rogers, says. “Gigabit speeds will give our customers time back in their day so they can focus on serving their own customers and running their business. They will have the ability to support more users online, to run applications and manage files in the cloud within seconds and to run systems like point of sale terminals more quickly, all on a secure connection.”
In October 2015, Rogers announced its intent to deliver gigabit speed to more than four million homes and businesses – the company’s entire cable footprint in Ontario and Atlantic Canada – by the end of this year.
