In order to help video engineers provision and maintain emerging multi-screen video technologies, Concurrent announced a new training and certification program this morning.
Concurrent’s multi-screen video certification program was designed to educate engineers on IP content delivery networks, adaptive bit rate technologies, OTT architectures and multi-screen applications. Concurrent said students who complete the course garner the status of “Certified Multi-Screen Video Engineer.”
“Our service provider customers are increasingly interested in launching their own over-the-top services and gaining a competitive edge in the multi-screen video market,” said Rick Lopes, vice president, services and solutions engineering at Concurrent. “In addition to adopting new technologies and video architectures, service providers must upgrade the skill sets of their existing team members to ensure they are prepared to deploy and support these new systems. With a more knowledgeable engineering workforce, service providers can better execute their multi-screen video strategies, speed their time to market for new applications and deliver the best possible consumer experience on every screen.”
Concurrent’s customers include Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Virgin Media, Kabel Deutschland, J:COM, and NOS (Formerly ZON Multimedia.)
