The elections this year will be the first under a new format by the SCTE. The SCTE now comprised of 13 regions, and only SCTE members who reside in regions 1, 2, 6, 9, and 11 will vote in this year’s election. Only members in SCTE’s eight other regions will vote in the 2012 election. Members will elect their respective Regional Representatives to two-year terms.
SCTE members regardless of region have been accustomed to voting annually because they could vote for two Director-At-Large candidates. However, the new structure, established in January, eliminated the position of Director-At-Large.
Under the new structure, Regional Representatives will select eight individuals from among themselves to serve on the 15-member SCTE Board of Directors. The other seven board members will be appointed.
The SCTE said voting starts June 1 at a secure Website where candidate biographies will be included. Election questions should be directed to elections@scte.org.
