The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) today announced that it is seeking proposals for papers and presentations for the technical sessions at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013.
The SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 Program Committee is looking for abstracts that address the evolution of cable networks, services and business processes for the Monday through Thursday, Oct. 21-24 event in Atlanta. SCTE recently announced it was moving its flagship event from New Orleans in September to Atlanta due to scheduling conflicts.
SCTE said the committee was interested in abstracts relating to the integration and convergence of technologies, services and the view of the customer.
Suggested subtopics for SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 include:
· Network Evolution—technology, architecture, wireless/integrated, management, security, energy efficiency
· Service Evolution—video, IPv6, advanced home networks and services, software and apps, user interfaces
· Business Evolution—customer care/billing, business services, big data, workforce, and competitive strategies
More details on topics and subtopics are available in “Call for papers.”
The deadline for abstract submissions is Friday, April 12. The SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 Program Committee, chaired by Kevin Hart, executive vice president and CTO of Cox Communications, will review abstracts.
Interested participants must submit through the online submission platform a one-page abstract (300 words max.) identifying the overall theme and subtopic heading, as well as whether the intended audience is primarily customer facing, engineering or business/management personnel.
Submissions also must include the paper title, a brief description of proposed session content, and the name, company, mailing address, telephone/fax numbers, and email address of the author/presenter.
Previously published papers and product-specific presentations will not be accepted. Abstracts must be tailored for workshop learning and provide real-world tools that attendees can apply to their everyday work.
The Program Committee will announce the selected abstracts by June 7. Selected presenters will be required to provide electronic versions of their technical papers and presentations to SCTE by July 26 for publication in the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2013 Proceedings.
