The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is accepting nominations for three awards — The IP Innovator Award, The Polaris Award, and The Star of Integrity Award — to be bestowed at the 2004 Conference on Emerging Technologies.
The 2004 confab, slated to run Jan. 13–15 in Dallas, will welcome the first winner of the IP Innovator Award, which recognizes an engineer or manager who has displayed innovative achievement and creativity in the advancement and development of IP networking. CED, Cisco Systems and Multichannel News sponsor the award.
Other ET awards include The Polaris Award (sponsored by CED, Multichannel News and CommScope), which honors a Society member who has displayed exceptional achievement involving the use of optical fiber, and The Star of Integrity (sponsored by C-COR, CED and Multichannel News), which identifies an engineer who has contributed to the efficiency and effectiveness of advanced broadband services.
SCTE has set an Oct. 15 deadline for nominations. Forms are available via the Web.
