The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) is seeking nominations for the 2007 Emerging Technologies Awards.
Winners will be announced at the next Conference on Emerging Technologies, scheduled for January 23-25, 2007 in Houston, Texas.
These prestigious awards honor cable telecommunications professionals who have advanced the industry through their commitments and achievements. The three Emerging Technologies Awards are:
* The IP Innovator Award – recognizes an SCTE member who, as an engineer or manager, has displayed innovative achievement and creativity in the advancement and deployment of IP networking. Sponsored by Juniper Networks.
* The Polaris Award honors an SCTE member who, as an engineering manager at a system, MSO or vendor, has displayed exceptional achievement and commitment to the development and/or deployment of HFC networks for commercial services applications. Sponsored by CommScope.
* The Star of Integrity Award honors a member of SCTE who, as an engineer or manager, has contributed to the efficiency and effectiveness of next-generation networks in delivering on-demand services. Sponsored by C-COR.
The submission deadline for nominations is Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Nominators for the Emerging Technologies Awards should indicate in detail why the nominee is deserving of the award in a minimum of 250 words. Applications should include the achievements, demonstrated leadership, involvement in SCTE and other industrial organizations, and published papers of the nominee. Winners of the Emerging Technologies Awards, presented by CED and SCTE, will be announced and recognized with the selected award on Wednesday, January 24 at the Emerging Technologies Awards Luncheon, and featured in a multitude of industry venues, including a cover feature in the March issue of CED.
