When SCTE•ISBE’s Cable-Tec Expo heads to Atlanta next year, Cox Communications CTO Kevin Hart will once again chair the conference’s Fall Technical Forum.
Hart previously chaired the expo in Atlanta in 2013, and succeeds this year’s co-chairs, Terry Cordova, vice chairman of business development for network and technology services at Altice USA, and Charter Communications EVP of engineering and information technology Jim Blackley.
SCTE says Hart will head up the committee that develops the Expo Fall Technical Forum with workshops that zero in on technology’s role as the foundation for new cable services and revenue opportunities.
“Year in and year out, Kevin Hart’s vision, commitment to excellence, and technology expertise have helped Cox be among the very best at transforming the lives of consumers,” Mark Dzuban, president and CEO of SCTE•ISBE, comments in a statement. “Kevin’s leadership will be key to shaping an Expo program that will help to drive deeper understanding of the value of training, standards, and thought leadership as catalysts for improvement in operators’ bottom lines.”
The 2018 Cable-Tec Expo will take place in Atlanta from Oct. 22 through Oct. 25 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
“In a rapidly-shifting media landscape, it’s essential for cable to continue to prepare the technology workforce for the changes ahead,” Hart says. “I look forward to working with the Cable-Tec Expo 2018 Program Committee to create an agenda that will provide SCTE•ISBE members and Expo attendees with the technical knowledge and industry insights they need to maintain our competitive edge well into the future.”
Before coming to Cox, Hart served as CIO of Clearwire where he oversaw the transformation of the IT organization as the company deployed 4G wireless broadband service nationwide.
