SES Americom has integrated Harmonic’s latest video encryption technology with its IP-Prime IPTV distribution service.

IP-Prime IPTV now incorporates Harmonic’s ProStream 1000 with ProCipher AES scrambling and bulk descrambling technology.

SES Americom’s IPTV Broadcast Center in Vernon Valley, N.J., is now transmitting over 200 channels via satellite. The company is targeting telcos looking to provide IPTV services.

Harmonic said SES Americom helped define the requirements for the AES bulk decryption technology implemented in this project. This particular ProStream solution with ProCipher AES encryption reduces cost and complexity in the IP-Prime network, and also streamlines the encryption and delivery of aggregated video services, according to Harmonic.
