Sezmi is expanding into 10 more markets with its pay-TV service that bundles broadcast channels, on-demand content and some cable channels, and it runs on DVRs that subscribers must buy at retail outlets.
The company introduced its service in February in Los Angeles.
Sezmi’s new markets are Boston; Detroit; Houston; Kansas City, Mo.; Phoenix; Portland, Ore.; Miami, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and San Francisco.
The Sezmi Select tier combines digital broadcast content with a collection of movies from Hollywood studios, on-demand TV from broadcast and cable providers, and video from YouTube and other online content providers.
The Select Plus tier adds access to some cable channels, including Bravo, Animal Planet, Syfy and MTV, among others. Select Plus remains available only in the LA market. Sezmi said it plans to make that bundle of cable channels available in some of its other markets later this year.
Sezmi also noted that it has introduced Entertainment Zones, basically a guide feature that aggregates similar programming from various sources into categories.
