Shaw Communications has extended its 100 Mbps service to the cities of Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver in Canada.
The company’s DOCSIS 3.0-based High-Speed Nitro is now available to more than 3.6 million Canadians in six cities, by Shaw’s calculation. Earlier, the service was rolled out in Saskatoon, Victoria and Winnipeg.
Shaw also said it is continuing to upgrade its fiber network throughout all Shaw communities.
Peter Bissonnette, president of Shaw Communications, said, “Shaw is the only provider in Canada to offer 100 Mbps service in these areas, and we are proud to offer our customers an unparalleled Internet experience, coupled with 24/7/365 support and reliability.”
Shaw High-Speed Nitro is priced at $149 per month when bundled with any other Shaw service; the price includes DOCSIS 3.0 modem rental.
Separately, the company set the redemption price for its $300 million 7.2 percent senior notes (due Dec.15, 2011) at $1,149.46 per senior note; that includes $25 in accrued interest to the redemption date.
