Shaw Communications has deployed Arris’ universal edge QAM to support its TV everywhere operations, specifically for support delivering content from its video-on-demand (VOD) libraries.
Arris’ Apex3000 is an ultra-high density QAM is expandable to deliver up to 1,532 individual streams of on-demand content.
Arris has designed the Apex3000 to be software upgradeable to become part of a modular Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP).

The Apex3000 Universal Edge QAM is fully redundant, and enables the delivery of VOD and DOCSIS services to a single, combined RF port. The system has GigE ingest capacity.
Shaw serves 3.2 million customers.
