A spokesman for the salvage of a Royal Dutch Shell PLC drill barge says salvers have not made a plan for moving the vessel from Alaska’s Kodiak Island.
Jim Appleby (AP-pul-bee) of the unified command joint information center says nothing has changed in the week since the last information was released on the salvage operation of the Kulluk (KUL’-uk).
He says salvers continue to review information collected during damage assessment.
The 266-foot-diameter Kulluk drilled last year in the Beaufort Sea off Alaska’s north coast. It was being moved to Seattle last month when a tow line snapped. Efforts to keep the lines reattached failed and the vessel ran aground New Year’s Eve.
The Kulluk was refloated Jan. 6 and moved to a protected bay 43 miles southwest of the city of Kodiak.
