Sidera Networks started a promotional campaign earlier this week that guarantees the delivery of 1 gigabit of switched Ethernet capacity to customers in one day.
Sidera Networks was formerly RCN Metro Optical Networks, but it became a separate entity after RCN was purchased by Abry Partners last month.
“We understand that our customers’ networks are the lifeblood of their business, and when additional bandwidth is required, they need us to react swiftly to support their business objectives,” said Felipe Alvarez, president of Sidera Networks. “Our ‘1 Gig in 1 Day’ campaign builds on Sidera’s commitment to deliver the highest level of service and support to its customers and highlights the very best of what we have to offer – speed and agility, combined with award-winning customer service and technological expertise.”
Sidera said it has integrated leading-edge technologies throughout its network that allow it to quickly turn up high-capacity bandwidth to address customers’ capacity needs.
Also this week, Sidera announced that it had received two Best-in-Class Wholesale Regional/Metro Fiber Provider Excellence Awards from Atlantic-ACM, a Boston-based telecommunications research consultancy.
It was the fifth year that Atlantic-ACM conducted its Metro Wholesale Report Card study and the fifth year that Sidera’s customers rated the company highly.
The Metro Report Card was divided between incumbent carriers and competitive carriers, with customers rating their service provider’s performance in several categories. Sidera won Best-in-Class awards for billing and provisioning (tie) among competitive carriers.
In addition to the two Best-in-Class awards, Sidera was the top-scoring carrier for several product categories – including local private line: DS1 and DS3 for price competitiveness, and local private line: OCN and wavelengths – for both quality and price competitiveness.
