Sigma Systems has boosted its presence in Japan by signing a deal with Tokyo-based itscom.
With the agreement, Sigma Systems will manage triple-play service fulfillment and device provisioning for itscom’s 250,000 subscribers. Itscom will use both Sigma Systems’ Service Management Platform (SMP) and Device Provisioning Manager (DPM) within its own DOCSIS 3.0 and PacketCable network. Sigma said its combined OSS platform would accelerate the automation and deployment of itscom’s triple-play services and service bundles across its serving area.
In addition, itscom has also become a managed service provider of Sigma Systems’ SMP and DPM, with the ability to offer these integrated products via a managed solution in the cloud to cable operators throughout Japan.
“With Sigma Systems’ industry-leading solutions for cable operators, we can easily manage IP devices and automate the deployment of itscom’s advanced services now, with the flexibility to support our OSS SaaS solution offering in the future,” said itscom Chairman Hiroshi Kawamura. “We look forward to continuing to develop our partnership with Sigma Systems for the benefit of both our subscribers and our expanded business efforts over the coming months.”
