South Korea’s SK Broadband is using Arris’ DOCSIS 3.0 equipment to provide 100 Mbps broadband to its customers.
Arris said SK’s deployment is “the first regional high-speed data deployment where four upstream channels are bonded.”
SK has installed Arris’ C4 CMTS and the vendor’s WBM760 wideband modems, which SK could use to double current downstream data speeds up to 200 Mbps.
Bruce McClelland, president of Arris Broadband Communications Systems, said: “Our C4 CMTS solution has been supporting channel bonding in the field for some time, and now, with expected changes in customer usage, we are very proud to be delivering greater upstream speed for SK Broadband. These technologies will permit SK Broadband and other MSOs to support anticipated bandwidth demands of the future.”
