Sling TV is expanding its à la carte on-demand offerings with four new channels.
The virtual MVPD first gave subscribers the option to pick and choose from a handful of channels for individual purchase back in late June. Here are the latest additions:
- CONtv ($5 per month), geared toward Comic Con fans and featuring sci-fi, anime, and retro-cartoons.
- Docurama ($5 per month), a curated collection of documentary TV shows and films.
- Grokker ($7 per month), a fitness channel offering on-demand yoga, meditation, and cooking classes.
- Here TV ($8 per month), a channel showcasing LGBTQ movies, series, documentaries, and short films.
Sling’s other à la carte channels include CuriosityStream ($6 per month), Dove Channel ($5), NBA Pass League ($28.99), Outside TV Features ($5), Pantaya ($6), Showtime ($10), Stingray Karaoke ($7), and Up Faith & Family ($5).
This summer, Sling TV upped the price of its 30-channel base package, Sling Orange, by 25 percent—increasing $5 to $25 per month.
Dish’s Sling TV ended the second quarter with 2.34 million subscribers, an increase of 41,000 for the period, but lower than the 91,000 subs it added in the previous quarter.
