Sling TV, Dish Network’s OTT TV service, has added select Samsung smart TVs to its device lineup. Sling TV says it’s the first live and OTT service available on the Samsung devices.
The service is available today on Samsung’s 2016 line of smart TVs and will be integrated into additional models later on, according to Sling TV.
“With football season in full swing, we know our customers want to catch every play on the biggest screen possible,” Jimshade Chaudhari, VP of product management at Sling TV, comments in a statement. “Integrating Sling TV into select Samsung TVs creates a seamless experience for millions of Samsung customers, so they can watch their favorite team without the hassle of installing additional equipment, additional remotes or switching inputs.”
This adds to Sling TV’s roster of supported devices, which includes Android TV devices, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, iOS and Android mobile devices, and LG connected TVs.
“Integrating Sling TV into our line of Smart TVs helps simplify live TV for our customers,” Salek Brodsky, VP of content and services for Samsung Electronics, says. “As viewers continue to embrace streaming live TV via apps, Sling TV is an obvious win for those who want to truly personalize their entertainment experience for the best value.”
