YouTube TV has beefed up its premium channel lineup, with the OTT live streaming TV service now offering subscribers access to 14 Starz channels for an additional $9 per month.
Users will be able to watch Starz and Starz Encore channels, including Starz Encore Westerns, and have access to the network’s full VOD library. In addition to popular films, YouTube TV subscribers can also view current and past seasons of Starz original series, including the upcoming season of Power, as well as Vida, Counterpart, Outlander, and American Gods.
Starz joins the Google-owned virtual MVPD’s other premium channel offerings, which include Showtime, Shudder, Fox Soccer Plus and Sundance Now.
Since launching a little more than one year ago, YouTube TV’s $40 per month service has expanded to include live TV from over 60 networks including ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and cable networks like TNT, TBS, CNN, AMC, and FX.
Starz launched its own OTT standalone service in 2016, and previously inked similar deals with OTT TV services DirecTV Now and Sling TV.
“The addition of Starz on YouTube TV offers consumers another exciting new way to subscribe to our channels and access the breadth of top quality original programming and content with the freedom to watch it anywhere, anytime,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, COO at Starz, in a statement. “With breakthrough Starz original series, first-run hit movies including Rough Night and Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as exclusive documentaries, Starz is a great value for consumers who subscribe to this platform.”
