Keeping tabs on USB connections
This little gadget comes from a company called Total Phase, located in San Jose, Calif. At its heart is an STM processor, which is why it was at the Tech Tour. Called a Power Delivery Analyzer, it plugs between a USB 3.1 Gen 2 device and a USB port and monitors both the power and the USB traffic on CC1 or CC2 while the data passes through. You get a plot of what’s happening similar to that visible on the PC screen, in this case monitoring current use over time.
