Thanks to last week’s agreement between NFL Network and the National Cable Television Cooperative, Suddenlink is offering NFL Network programming to some of its subscribers.
While NFL Network and its NFL RedZone are currently available in some of the cable operator’s footprint, Suddenlink expects to have the football channel available to substantially all of its subscribers by the time the regular season kicks off on Sept. 12.
Suddenlink, the nation’s seventh-largest cable operator, said it would notify customers when the channels were available in their community and tell them how to subscribe to them. As NFL Network and NFL RedZone are launched, the company will also update the local channel listings published on its website.
“We’re excited to be able to offer NFL Network and NFL RedZone to our customers who have been asking for them,” said Suddenlink Chairman and CEO Jerry Kent.
While the NCTC agreement will bring more cable operators into the NFL Network fold, some of the larger cable operators, including Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Bright House Networks and Charter Communications, haven’t been able to strike deals.
