Suddenlink Communications announced this morning that its HBO and Cinemax subscribers now have free access to online content via HBO Go and Max Go.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Time Warner owned-HBO’s TV Everywhere service. Last week, it was reported that HBO Go would become available on mobile devices, including iPad, iPhone and Android devices, on May 2. Earlier this month, HBO inked an agreement with DirecTV for HBO Go and Max Go.
In March, Cox Communications joined Comcast, Dish Network, AT&T and Verizon as another one of the service providers that offered the two services.
Suddenlink’s HBO subscribers now have access to more than 1,400 titles online once they authenticate themselves. HBO video content includes the recently launched series “Game of Thrones,” as well as older shows such as “The Sopranos,” “Sex in the City” and “Deadwood.”
HBO’s sister service, Max Go, adds more than 400 titles of Cinemax programming online, including the Max After Dark series.
“These new services are yet another way we are providing customers with a range of viewing choices to fit their lifestyles and preferences,” said Suddenlink chief marketing officer Jerry Dow.
With these online services, Suddenlink customers also get most new titles immediately after their premiere on the networks; the ability to create a “watchlist” that keeps track of bookmarked content for later viewing; bonus content, including interviews, recaps and behind-the-scenes extras; and customizable views showing titles in slideshow, grid or list format.
Max Go also includes “browse by tags,” a feature allowing users to find titles via keywords.
