Thanks to its Project Imagine initiative, Suddenlink is now offering video-on-demand to its subscribers in Jonesboro and Pocahontas, Ark.
A spokesman for Suddenlink said this morning that the company has about 26,000 basic subs in the Jonesboro/Pocahontas communities.
Suddenlink’s on demand offering gives subscribers access to more than 6,000 hours of VOD programming, including HD content, sports, movies, news and cable network shows, with the capacity for 10,000 hours.
The new VOD launches in Arkansas were the result of Suddenlink’s “Project Imagine,” which calls for approximately $350 million of capital investments nationwide through 2012, above and beyond the company’s traditional capital spending levels. In addition to the VOD rollouts, Project Imagine’s roadmap also includes more HD choices, expanded digital phone service and more DOCSIS 3.0 launches.
With Project Imagine in full swing, Suddenlink has expanded the availability of its on-demand service from 48 percent to more than 60 percent of its customers, with additional VOD launches forthcoming.
Suddenlink, the nation’s seventh-largest cable operator, has approximately 1.3 million residential customers and thousands of commercial customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, West Virginia and elsewhere.
