Suddenlink Communications has launched its DOCSIS 3.0-based Max 50.0 tier in more than a dozen Texas communities.
The latest rollouts included Lufkin, Mineola, Grand Saline, Lindale, Quitman, Hideaway Lake and a number of the suburban Dallas communities that Suddenlink serves, such as Terrell, Forney, Balch Springs, Seagoville, Heath, Rockwall, Royse City, Talty, Fate and McClendon-Chisholm.
With the most recent deployments, Suddenlink has DOCSIS 3.0 in front of 73 percent of its subscribers.
Max 50.0 features download speeds of up to 50 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 3 Mbps. In past deployments, Suddenlink has previously charged $110 per month a la carte and $100 bundled for Max 50.0.
Last year, Suddenlink started offering Max 107.0 tier, which has the fastest downstream speed in the nation at up to 107 Mbps, in Texas communities that included Austin, Amarillo, Georgetown, Leander and Pflugerville.
The DOCSIS 3.0 tiers are the result of Suddenlink’s “Project Imagine,” which calls for approximately $350 million of capital investments nationwide through 2012, above and beyond the company’s traditional capital spending levels. In addition to the DOCSIS 3.0 tiers, Project Imagine’s roadmap also includes more HD choices, expanded digital phone service and more VOD offerings.
