In its largest capacity installation to date for a customer, Suddenlink Business Services recently completed a new fiber-optic route in West Texas that connected US Cable to its national backbone.
Suddenlink Business Services built 13 miles of new fiber and lit up more than 80 miles of dark fiber between US Cable’s Seminole facilities and Lubbock, Texas, to connect US Cable’s Seminole facilities to its national network.
Privately held US Cable will use the new connection to provide data services to nearly 100,000 of its customers across six states.
“The new route and data transport capacity from Suddenlink puts us in position to offer improved and more reliable services in the communities where we operate,” said US Cable director of operations Chris Zeth.
Over the past four years, Suddenlink has built and activated 750 customer fiber routes for business clients.
“Our partnership with US Cable adds to our established track record of designing and delivering large-scale fiber installations for commercial customers,” said Suddenlink business services vice president Ken Conner.
Last month, Suddenlink, which is the nation’s seventh-largest cable operator, completed a fiber-optic network installation in Mississippi on a system that it bought from Windjammer.
