Suddenlink Communications has named Jared Sonne as its senior vice president of operations for its North Carolina region, which is based in Greenville.
Sonne will replace Phil Ahlschlager, who is retiring on July 1. Sonne most recently served as vice president of operations for Suddenlink in East Texas and Oklahoma, based in Tyler, Texas.
In his new job, Sonne will oversee more than 350 employees who serve 96,000 residential customers and more than 4,300 business customers. The region includes Greenville, Rocky Mount, New Bern, Kinston, Washington and other communities in Eastern North Carolina.
Sonne is an 11-year veteran of the cable industry. After work in marketing and sales, he joined Cox Communications as a marketing and financial analyst in Gainesville, Florida. He was later promoted to regional business manager in Tyler, and later named director of business operations for the East Texas Region of Middle America Cox.
After Suddenlink’s acquisition of certain Cox properties in 2006, he was named vice president of fiscal operations for Suddenlink’s East Texas/Oklahoma region before he held his most recent position.
Suddenlink is the seventh largest cable operator in the United States, claiming approximately 1.4 million residential and commercial customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, West Virginia and elsewhere.
