Since Suddenlink Communications became the first cable operator to offer the TiVo Stream service in Lubbock, Texas, in October, the nation’s seventh-largest cable operator has deployed it in more than 60 communities across its footprint.

TiVo Stream lets subscribers stream live TV channels, as well as recorded material, wirelessly around homes to iPod Touches, iPads and iPhones. Suddenlink said Android devices and access to VOD content would be added at a later date.

TiVo Stream is now available to Suddenlink customers in the following Mid-South communities: Arkansas – Arkadelphia, Atkins, Batesville, Clarksville, Dardanelle, Dover, El Dorado, Heber Springs, Helena, Hot Springs Village, Jonesboro, Lamar, London, Magnolia, Malvern, Morrilton, Mountain Home, Newport, Pocahontas, Pottsville and Russellville; Louisiana – Alexandria, Bastrop, Bossier City, Boyce, DeRidder, Iowa, Lake Charles, Leesville, Minden, Natchitoches, Ruston, Sulphur and Minden; Mississippi – Greenville; Missouri – Aurora, Branson, Carthage, Monett, Nixa and St. Joseph.

Suddenlink said it would be adding additional markets in the near future.

TiVo introduced its TiVo Stream box earlier this year. The separate router streams content directly from TiVo’s Premiere DVRs to the Apple devices. The $129 box has been available through retail channels for several months. Current Suddenlink customers now can get a TiVo Stream device to add to their home network as a companion to their TiVo Premiere DVR.

In last month’s third-quarter earnings conference call, Suddenlink CEO and Chairman Jerry Kent said that his company planned on adding the TiVo Mini box to its product line early next year. The TiVo Mini, which is an IP set-top box that doesn’t require the more expensive CableCards, will be paired with the TiVo Premiere DVR.
