Sunrise Telecom has launched SunLite GigE, what the company said is the world’s first palm-size Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) tester.
SunLite GigE is the only test set technicians require for Ethernet network and service installation, verification, maintenance and troubleshooting, the company said, eliminating the need for multiple tests, and therefore improving productivity and lowering operating expenses.
“Until now, the combination of high performance and high functionality were only found in bulky, hard-to-use Ethernet testers,” said Bahaa Moukadam, Sunrise Telecom’s vice president of marketing. “The SunLite GigE has transformed the landscape and is capturing the imagination of our customers through its unique combination of high-performance, rich functionality and simplicity of use in the world’s only palm-size tester. Telcos’ and cable operators’ urgent need for a quantum leap in productivity improvement and CapEx reduction has been addressed with this breakthrough product.”
Using the SunLite GigE, field technicians can verify end-to-end transport of GigE and IP traffic, transmit and analyze eight independent streams and run test methodology based on RFC2544. Technicians can also use the SunLite GigE to determine throughput, link utilization, latency and IP connectivity.
In addition, the SunLite GigE’s 10/100/1000BASE-T and 1000BASE-X interfaces enable copper and fiber GigE testing in the same tester.
