Telenet will be using Casa Systems’ C100G platform for a CCAP rollout to serve the company’s cable television to customers throughout Flanders and Brussels.
Telenet signed a multi-year agreement with Casa Systems, which will supply the network operator with its ICCAP, C100G platform, packaged with professional services covering the full suite of network design, installation, configuration and management services.
Telenet selected Casa’s C100G over competing platforms after testing in lab and field trials. Telenet will migrate both its existing consumer and business services off of competitors’ CMTS platforms and move to the C100G, adding video services and enhanced Internet access speeds in the process.
“Telenet had gone through a very exhaustive vendor evaluation before selecting Casa System’s C100G,” said Bart Bleyen, Telenet’s director engineering. “The C100G has proven to be the superior platform in terms of performance and density through the extensive testing process. We are looking forward to working with Casa Systems as we deliver advanced multimedia and high-speed Internet services to our subscriber base. Especially, video on demand requests are increasing rapidly so we needed a reliable system that can cope with this. The C100G met all our demands. It allows us to make our network ready for the future.”
Casa Systems’ ICCAP solution enables MSOs to deploy DOCSIS, IPTV and MPEG video on a single chassis over a single port. When combined with the DS8x96 module, Casa claims the industry’s highest I-CCAP density while having the lowest power consumption available.
Telenet provides cable television, high speed internet and fixed and mobile telecom services, primarily to residential customers in Flanders and Brussels. Telenet also provides services for companies in Belgium and Luxembourg.
