In addition to its just-announced launch of a 1 Gbps service in two Alabama communities, WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone also revealed residents in Knoxville, Tenn., and Evansville, Ind., now have access to the speeds.
To upgrade, current WOW! customers in those areas reportedly require a new modem, and the gig service will be offered as a standalone service for residential customers at $70 per month with a two-year term agreement. It also can be bundled with existing WOW! cable and phone.
WOW! reports it is the first-ever service provider in Evansville to bring residents 1 gigabit service there.
“In Evansville, we are already offering the highest speeds available with our 600 Mbps internet service,” WOW! VP and GM Robert DiNardo is quoted in a press release. “By enabling 1 Gig Internet over our existing Indiana coax plant, WOW! customers will be able to access the fastest Internet service from WOW!”
