The largest automotive recall in American history took place this week after Takata Corp doubled its recall of faulty airbags. Air bags in about 34 million vehicles were recalled after exploding Takata airbags had been found responsible for six deaths worldwide. The air bag seals were made such that moisture could leak in, damaging the propellant to a degree that makes the inflator explode with too much force.
