Video management and publishing vendor thePlatform is deepening its commitment in Australia and New Zealand with the addition of two new employees.
Matt Moran has joined thePlatform as regional director, while Calvin Cheng is a technical consultant on thePlatform’s worldwide sales and marketing team. Comcast-owned thePlatform currently counts Telstra, Special Broadcasting Service and Sky New Zealand as its customers in Australia and New Zealand.
With more than 12 years of experience in digital video creation and cross-platform distribution for media organizations worldwide, Moran is responsible for business development and sales for thePlatform’s video management system (mpx) and other services in the Australia and New Zealand regions.
Prior to joining thePlatform, he served as digital media technologist at MSquared Media, where he consulted for digital media development, production and distribution, including workflow and process design, system integration and implementation.
Previously, he was technology director at News Digital Media and served as technical production manager, and then technical director, at Australian Broadcasting Corp. in Sydney.
As technical consultant, Cheng is responsible for guiding thePlatform’s customers and their projects to a successful design and launch. Prior to thePlatform, he served as project manager for Telstra’s digital division, building and launching mobile apps.
Previously, he held various project management roles at Orange Labs – working at the company’s San Francisco and London offices for more than five years. Cheng reports to senior vice president Marty Roberts.
